Layer the apple slices onto a bakers rack or whatever rack fits into your solar oven. You may stack more than one bakers rack as long as the racks are stacked to allow air circulation.
Find a heat-resistant object that is between 1/2" - 1" thick. Wedge it it between the lid and edge of your solar oven.
Double check that it stays put the whole time you're dehydrating. Dehydrating time varies with sun exposure, time of year, and thickness of the apple slices.

Remove the lid, the wedge, and the bakers racks from the solar oven with oven mitts because they'll be hot.
Notes
The key to good dehydration is excellent air circulation around the product. When you use your solar oven as a food dehydrator, you have to vent the lid so that the moisture will escape. Solar ovens do really well at keeping moisture in, which is usually a good thing and one of the best parts of using a solar oven for regular cooking.See the post for more information on storage and more details.
