Here’s our easy keto gummy recipe with no table sugar but lots of gelatin – we make this about every two weeks at our house. We use low carb sugars like allulose and extra gelatin so that this “treat” is actually a health food supplement. It just happens to taste delicious, too! Whip these up in under ten minutes and feel confident you’re boosting your family’s health! keto gummies in a small dish

Variety of Keto Gummy Recipes

This keto gummy recipe can be made with any lower-carb juice, so you can switch up the flavors. Since my stomach takes pretty much any juice and turns it into a flaming ball of acid with which it beats my gut nearly to death over several hours, I don’t use juice in this recipe.

I usually use herbal tea, brewed strong and used in place of the juice called for in the recipe. My favorite flavor is probably passion fruit, but hibiscus, chammomile & lavender, and even nettle tea are all delicious.

You can also use powdered fruits (freeze dried or dehydrated) combined with the  necessary water to make up the recipe amount. This will usually end up mostly clear with the fruit bits visible – suspended in the gelatin, looking really cool.

  • The keto gummy recipe from this article’s pictures was made with a combination of powdered, freeze dried strawberry, passion fruit tea, and a dash or two of butterfly pea flower tea to make the whole thing turn purple.

Bottom line: feel free to experiment with flavor!

What Does Keto Mean?

Keto is a special diet regimen that seeks to promote the burning of fat in the body for fuel instead of sugar. Dr. Berg explains it this way (and this article is great for learning more):

A ketogenic diet is simply a diet, which causes your body to run on what are called ketones instead of sugar from carbohydrates like pasta, grains or sugary foods. Ketones are a type of acid formed when your body begins burning stored or dietary fat for fuel instead of carbs. They’re actually a very efficient fuel for your body.

On a typical American diet, your body is constantly converting sugar from carbs into energy. However, when you change to a high-fat diet and limit your net carbs, your body starts producing ketones for energy. …In a keto diet, the goal is to switch your body from burning sugar fuel to fat fuel.”

Bottom line, keto basically refers to a low carb, no sugar diet. Whether you’re looking to be very strict with your carbs or you simply want to reduce the amount of inflammatory foods your family eat, this keto gummy recipe will become a good friend in your kitchen.

Easy Keto Gummy Recipe

Use this basic easy keto gummy recipe to customize the flavors for your family’s tastes. These can be sweet, savory, or even made plain with little flavor at all.

  • The most important part is to keep the sugar low and the gelatin high so that these gummies can build our health in a tasty way.

Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 4 hours hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1/4 Cup Fruit Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Allulose
  • 1/2 Cup Organic Gelatin

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients and heat over a low-medium flame until all the sugar is dissolved. Do NOT simmer, only heat until melted.
  • Pour into gummy molds or simply pour into a 9" x 13" baking dish. Allow to cool to room temperature, cover, and then place in the fridge for 2-4 hours.
  • Invert the molds and gently push out the gummies, if you've used a mold. If you've used a baking dish, simply cut the gummies into small squares and lift them out when you serve them.

Notes

You can reduce the organic gelatin to 3 tablespoons, if you prefer.
Be sure you only heat the mixture until the sugar melts. Do NOT simmer the mixture or the allulose will crystalize as it cools.
Depending on how much gelatin was used in the recipe and how warm the ambient air is, the gummies may be set within an hour or two. I like to give them at least four hours simply to be sure they're very firm.
With very firm gummies, they will simply pop out of the pan without sticking.
I use a casserole dish that has a lid that fits snuggly. I serve the gummies out of the pan and then cover it to return it to the fridge.

Keto Gummy Recipe Notes

Reminder: Do not simmer or boil the mixture; only warm and melt the sweetener. Allulose loves to crystalize if you heat it to high!

Pour the heated mixture into gummy molds or simply into glass dishes, which is my preferred method because I don’t like washing little gummy molds. Also, I like to size the gummies and the baking dishes give me the option to customize each gummy.

keto gummy pan full of cut out gummies

To cut gummies from the pan, you can measure so they’re all precise and the same. I like to be able to halve them for younger children and thicken them for us older people, so mine are usually not uniform.

They’re delicious and healthy regardless of what they look like, so don’t stress it.

Eat one or two a day, if you can stop yourself at that many. I sometimes go for extras when I’m feeling like a treat but I don’t want anything super sweet.

Variation on This Keto Gummy Recipe

I use my temblque recipe with the gelatin amount DOUBLED to make a similar keto gummy recipe that uses coconut milk instead of water.

The ones pictured here also got a dash of butterfly pea flower tea to turn them light blue just for fun. You could also use butterfly pea flower syrup for more intense color.

These coconut gummies are so super delcious, so if you want to make them into gummies, use this recipe but replace the water with coconut milk. You can still add the fruit powder, if you’d like.

I promise you don’t need a separate recipe; they’re super easy!

You can even make a version of this healthy gummy treat for your livestock guard dogs! Spoiled Hounds has a great recipe for Homemade Dog Gummies for you to try.

  • The only thing I would change in this recipe is to swap Knox gelatin with an organic variety.
